Who is this guy? Campbell Vertesi is an operatic bass, of the very low sort. His fach is sometimes called "Basso Profundo" - that's Italian for "he sings really low." Even lower than most basses, which is a bit frightening. He specializes in bass roles like Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), and Colline (La Bohème). This site chronicles Campbell's progress as he begins a career as a young opera singer. ummm....I...how do I put this....
I sang in this very concert....um it was kind of sexual at moments....and then cute again...nothing like a concert master in Drag and a conductor in a more pink feathers to well make you question everything.
The soprano's however dressed as the sopranos...also...
so weird to have a direct refernce to one of my performance obligations on this blog
